1/2 lb round steak
1/2 lb boneless pork chops
2 Tbsp cornstarch
5 Tbsp soy sauce
2 tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
2 Tbsp oil
1 cup sliced celery (including leaves)
1 large Bell pepper, sliced or chopped
1 medium onion, sliced or chopped
1 can (16oz) bean sprouts
1 or 2 cans (6 oz) sliced water chestnuts
3 cups cooked rice
Chow mein noodles, optional
Start the rice cooking.
In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and soy sauce; set aside. Cut steak and pork and into bite-sized pieces, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and brown in oil. Add corn starch mixture and all other ingredients (undrained), except rice. Cook and stir until vegetables are tender but crisp (about 5 minutes or so). When finished, serve over cooked rice.
Garnish each serving with chow mein noodles, if desired.
