1 cup sugar
½ cup water
¼ cup Karo syrup
½ tsp salt
1 tsp vinegar
½ tsp vanilla
3 qts. Popped unsalted popcorn
Combine all the ingredients and cook to a firm ball stage (245 F). If you do not have a candy thermometer, drop a small amount of the cooked liquid into a cup of cold water to see if it forms a firm little ball.
Pour the syrup while warm over approximately 3 qt. of popped unsalted popcorn. Butter hands and quickly shape into 3 inch balls.
