Banana Nut Bread


1 3/4 cups flour
2 3/4 teas baking powder
1/2 teas salt
1/3 cup shortening
2/3 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup very ripe bananas (2 or 3), smashed
l cup chopped nuts (Elvera adds 1 teas vanilla)

Beat eggs and shortening and sugar. Add bananas and nuts. Mix. Add dry ingredients and mix until wet. Bake at 350 for 50-60 min.
